Wow - literally learned about the role of marketing engineer from Emily Kramer a couple of days ago and now we have a guide <3 excited to dive in, thanks Josh.

Such a timely topic. The demand is arriving before most companies have the operating model to support the role well.

The key point is that the ceiling is not the technology, it is judgment. That is what makes this different from simply putting an engineer into marketing. The real leverage is knowing what is worth building, what will move a business outcome, and how narrative and workflow come together in the output.

Feels like the beginning of a broader rewrite of marketing roles, first around systems and judgment, and over time around orchestration as more functional teams build for themselves.
